Kipoh II

Makan kenduri

Last week, aku balik kampung, sibuk makan kenduri. Aku satu family balik hari Jumaat (2 Jun) lepas - mak aii, highway sesak jugak. Lebih kurang macam nak balik raya je. Nasib baik tak jem melekat! Tapi si Deena, time orang nak travel non-stop ni la dia sibuk "meghebaih". Kuantiti luar biasa plak tu. Alahaiiiii...Nak tak nak, terpaksa la jugak berhenti kat R&R. Isk..isk..Aku rasa travel bawak Mario (kucing aku yang dah r.i.p) lagi senang dari bawak budak kecik ni. At least Mario dok diam je dalam cage, tak bergayut-gayut & memekak-mekak macam Deena. Macam Yatt kata kat Zack hari tu la, dia gerenti tak tertidur time driving sebab terpaksa dengar ke'havoc'an @ pokpekpokpek aku & Deena. Hehehe...

Hari Sabtu (3 Jun), family aku pegi kenduri sepupu Yatt kat Pengkalan. Hanguih! The next day pulak, kitorang ambik Abg. Dan kat rumah dia then pegi kenduri adik Jam kat Lubuk Merbau, Kuala Kangsar. Balik dari kenduri tu, aku ajak Yatt ronda-ronda pekan Kuala jap. Dah lama betul aku tak pegi situ. Last aku pegi Kuala tahun 1992, kalau tak silap. Ikut rombongan sekolah. Masa tu kitorang berkelah kat Ulu Kenas. Yang aku ingat, ramai yang tak jadi nak mandi situ sebab ramai sangat bebudak kampung situ skodeng. Ye la...awek satu bas datang, beb! (all-gurls school). Hmm..Macam dah banyak yang berubah kat pekan Kuala tu ye? Heh..Macam la aku ingat sangat apa yang berubahnya. Lagipun, masa rombongan sekolah aku singgah pekan tu dulu, aku & geng-geng sibuk usha bebudak MCKK & Clifford!! ;-)

Nape carik yang jauh, wah oiii?..

Pasangan pengantin kat dua-dua kenduri ni masing-masing kahwin dengan orang dekat. Satu negeri. Senang betul. Macam aku ngan Yatt la. Macam kata member aku, "baling cekodok pun sampai!". Takde la pening kepala tang bila nak nyambut, nak nganto, kat mana nak bertanggak bla..bla...Takde la macam adik aku yang bongsu tu nanti. Haaa..Keket, lain kali cari lagi orang jauh! (No wonder la dah kurang makan tempoyak, rupanya dah terminat kat budu! hahaha...). Dah jodoh, camno kan?

Belek-belek...

Apa pun, semenjak dah tua ni, takde lagi dah aku kena paksa buat satu benda yang aku cukup boring. Dulu, masa aku kecik, arwah Opah aku sure paksa aku ikut dia pegi kenduri. Yang aku malas tu bukan apa, first thing first, sure Opah aku masuk bilik pengantin, belek-belek katil, cadar, langsir, hantaran etc. Pastu pegi pelamin pulak. Belek-belek lagi. Sambil tu, for sure dia pokpekpokpek suruh aku belek-belek sama, ingat, suruh buat "contoi" ("contoh" le tu...). Arghhh!! Itu yang aku boring tu! Opah aku tu expert buat tengkolok, hantaran orang kahwin & even lauk pengantin. Maybe la dia nak suruh aku ikut jejak dia. Tapi malangnya, aku ni malas. Tak brutal la konon buat semua tu. Haha..Come to think of it, baru sekarang ni aku rasa rugi pulak tak berguru ngan dia dulu. If not, boleh gak buat duit. Huwaaaaaa....

p/s: Lepas balik kenduri rumah Jam, aku dapat nickname baru - "Countess Cakcibor"..Sebab? Hehehehe...Ada laaaaa....;-)

Balik Kipoh

Banyak kerja kat opis. Anyway, semuanya settle jugak and tonite...Ipoh, here we come!!!...Yeehhaaaaa!!...Banyak nasik minyak nak dilantak ni..(semenjak jadi mak budak, terasa sikit nikmat bila pergi kenduri kawin sedara-mara. Sebab? Tak payah jadi tukang bagi bunga telur! I hate that job. Sebab?

Hopefully lepas balik kampung ni, idea nak tulis kat blog ni marrriiiii sekali!
So, later, people!

P/s: Op, lupa pulak nak cerita. Last two weeks, editorial team newsletter yang aku buat kat opis ni dapat e-mel daripada Karam Singh Walia. Rupa-rupanya he is an ardent reader of our newsletter. Dia mintak nak masuk dalam mailing kitorang. Fuh, siapa sangka ada gak peminat selebriti yang baca what we do and what we write. Cayalah! Ni yang bersemangat nak buat kerja ni! Hehehe...Kalau Deena tau, sure dia jeles. Dia minat gile ngan Pakcik Karam. ;-)

Keepers of the gloom...

It is drizzling, but still the sun shines, majestically...
Soothe me, Zeppelin..

ThE RaIn SoNg (House of The Holy, 1973)

This is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before.
It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from
time to time.

Talk Talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go. I cursed the gloom that set upon us...
But I know that I love you so

These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall.

Kontroversi dua pemain Portugal

(Berita Harian, 24 Mei 2006)

Masa balik Ipoh last two weeks, aku & Yatt bawak Deena gi karaoke ngan geng-geng Yob4Ever, Jimi, Cha-eir & Aloboy, kat Shogun. Sempoi gak tempat tu. Masa tu, baru la aku & Yatt tau something new about Deena. Rupanya selama ni dia gile lagu "Dari Kekasih Kepada Kekasih". Selamba je dia nyanyi stail dia; ngan penuh perasaan pulak tu! Haha. Tapi, aku & Yatt bertekak ngan dia, sebab dia kata lagu tu lagu Mawi, bukan Hattan! Heh...Ni sure cikgu-cikgu dia kat nursery tu pasang version Mawi. Cheh. Deena..Deena..Hattan nyanyi la! Hattannnnnnn!!!....Arghhhhhhhh!!!...

Pulakkk?

Warning: Watching Finals May Be Bad For Health
(The Star, 18 May 2006)

PARIS: Health experts are sounding a cautionary note about the World Cup Finals, saying that some matches could be quite literally heart-stopping. Cardiac arrests, drunk-driving, fan violence, wife-beating, binge boozing, smoking, gorging on fatty snacks with no exercise, even suicide ā€“ all of these phenomena surge during the worldā€™s most-watched sporting contest.

In the 1998 World Cup, the number of heart attacks in Britain rose by 25% when England lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout, according to a study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ). Compared with admissions for the same day in previous years, 55 more people were treated for a heart stoppage as a result of the match, say the University of Birmingham researchers. They suggest in all seriousness that it might be advisable ā€on public health groundsā€¯ to scrap shootouts altogether.

Another study, carried out in Holland, found there were an extra 14 male deaths, an increase of 50%, on the day when the Dutch team were knocked out of the European Championships by France in 1996.

Depression, violence and self-harm are also well-known outcomes of football matches and they peak during World Cup, especially as the competition heads towards its climactic stages. Since the first post-World War II World Cup in 1950 ā€“ when several Brazilians killed themselves after their team suffered a shock defeat to Uruguay ā€“ every tournament has brought a sad harvest of suicides among over-wrought fans and now-familiar tales of punch-ups.

But one intriguing discovery is that the risk of violence is greater if a team has won the game, rather than lost it. Vas Sivarajasingam, a researcher into social violence at Cardiff University in Wales, found that the number of assault cases admitted to the cityā€™s hospital rose during national rugby and football matches. When Wales won its matches, the average number of assault injuries was 33 ā€“ but when it lost, the average dropped to 25. There was no difference in these remarkable figures whether the team played at home or away.

A win may boost assertiveness and a misguided sense of patriotism, a mix that could become explosive when added to booze, says Sivarajasingam. ā€Winning is likely to be associated with the celebratory downing of alcohol, a factor that is well-known to increase the risk of violence,ā€¯ he suggests.

Even for those with sound hearts and who stay at home to watch the match, there could be a long-term risk. While the men on the pitch are cosseted with a fine diet and a rigorous exercise regime, many of the men watching them are addicts of artery-clogging snacks, whose concept of the Mediterranean diet is to order pizza with extra oregano.

In the last World Cup, Thailandā€™s Deputy Public Health Minister Surapong Suebwonglee raised widespread sniggers by urging couch potatoes to drink pure water and herbal tea and refrain from beer, crisps, sausages, dips and other salty or sugary snacks. ā€People who consume liquor, beer and snacks tend to suffer high blood pressure and other illnesses in the future,ā€¯ he pleaded valiantly. ā€“ AFP

**Aku: Takat tak cukup tido, nangis bila kalah, release tension ngan memaki hamun sesuka hati, melantak junkfood @ cuci mata...bla..bla..Itu je la...Hehe...
